Laois Home Energy Retrofit Project is now launched. This is a new initiative by SEAI to promote energy awareness within the homes in Co Laois.
This project is specifically targeting housing estates, so if your house is cold, difficult to heat, damp, why not take advantage of the substantial grants offered by SEAI.
The 1st thing you need to do is get the Home Technical Assessment completed. This assessment will tell you exactly what is required to be completed at your house to ensure your house is as energy efficient as possible. This assessment only costs the homeowner €100.
If you do decide to proceed to the construction stage of the project, grants are available from 35-80% for whatever works are required at your home, these works may include window and door replacement, attic insulation, Wall insulation, Ventilation systems, air tightness measures, Air To Water Heat pump, Time and Temperature zone controls, new central heating systems etc…
